Now there are six teams participating in PSL 2018 edition, so some news players are willing to play in Pakistan Super League 2018. Watch the exciting matches of PSL Live on PSLBuzz without any interruption.

So the five teams from the previous two seasons were allowed to retain two players each from the Platinum, Diamond and Gold category, three from the silver category and 1 from the Emerging category to make it 10 retained players at the maximum.

The sixth and the newest side in the competition, the Multan Sultans will be allowed to pick 10 players from each of the five categories in the pre-draft. What this means is that they will only have the right to those players which the first five teams do not retain in their squads.

While this could make it tougher for the side from Multan, it looks like a fair way for the old teams to retain some of their old flavors in the team – a way by which they can build around their brands.

Format of the Draft:

The PSL Draft 2018 is basically being conducted at-least 3 months prior to the beginning of the league, each league may have different drafting procedures. Pakistan has Categorized the players in Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging players.

An Important factor is the retention and trading process in the PSL Draft 2018. Each team Is provided the opportunity to retain 9 players based on their past performance and form if they want. No team can directly sign a new player, for that purpose the players are put in Draft.

In this way each team can Retain 2 players from each category (i.e. Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and 1 player from Emerging Class). This makes a total of 9 players. But the scenario was quite different for the New Franchise which is Multan Sultan as this is the first time when this team is going to take part in the competition they had option to choose those players which are not being retained by other 5 Teams. The Captain Announced for Sultans are Shoaib Malik while the famous Aussie Allrounder Tom Moody will be the Coach.
